Generic Prozac (Fluoxetine) 10/20/60mg

Indications

– Depressions of different etiology;
– Nervous bulimia;
– Obsessive-compulsive disorder;
– Dysphoric premenstrual disorder.

Dosing regime

When depression starting dose is recommended 20 mg / day.
When nervous bulimia recommended dose is 60 mg / day.
In obsessive-compulsive disorders recommended dose is 20-60 mg / day.
When dysphoric premenstrual disorders recommended dose is 20 mg / day.
Recommended doses can increase or decrease, but the use of the drug in a dose of more than 80 mg / day not been studied.
The drug can be taken independently of the meal.
There is no need to change data on the dose, depending on age.
In patients with violations of liver function, concomitant diseases, or taking other medications, doses should be reduced and reduce the frequency of admission.

Side-Effects

On the part of the digestive system: diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, dysphagia, dyspepsia, taste perversion, in individual cases - idiosyncratic hepatitis.
On the part of the central nervous system and peripheral nervous system: convulsions, ataxia, buccal-glossal syndrome, myoclonia, tremor, anorexia (up to the loss of body weight), anxiety, accompanied by palpitation, anxiety, nervousness, agitation, dizziness, fatigue (drowsiness, asthenia), violation of concentration and thinking, maniacal reaction, violations of sleep (unusual dreams, insomnia); visual impairment (mydriasis, imprecision of view); violations by the autonomic nervous system (dryness in the mouth, increased sweating, vasodilation, chills), serotonin syndrome (Complex clinical manifestations of mental state and change neuromuscular activity, combined with violations of the autonomous nervous system).
On the part of the digestive system: violations of urination (including palpitations urination), priapism / prolonged erection, sexual violation (reduced libido, delay or lack ejaculation, lack of orgasm, impotence).
On the part of the endocrine system: ADG violations secretion.
Allergic reactions: itching, skin rash, rash, anaphylactic reaction, vasculitis, reactions, such manifestations of serum sickness.
Dermatologic reaction: photosensitivity, alopecia.
Other: yawn, ecchymosis.

Neurotic frustrations are now among the leading medical and social problems. Buspare does not possess risk of development of accustoming and dependence, the syndrome of cancelling is absolutely not peculiar to it; the preparation also does not possess negative influence on cognitive functions and sexual sphere, does not cause development of serotonin syndrome, does not raise convulsive readiness of brain.

It differs from benzodiazepines tranquilizers selective anxiolytic (antidisturbing) action, does not possess antispasm and neuromuscular relaxant properties, causes less expressed sedative effect.

Generalized disturbing frustration, panic frustration, the syndrome of vegetative dystonia, the syndrome of alcoholic abstinence (auxiliary therapy), easy depression (auxiliary therapy).

In a combination with neuroleptics - at treatment of the depressions, which have developed during a therapy of schizophrenic psychoses. Involutory depressions, depressive-apathetic syndromes on a background of cerebral arteriosclerosis.

Antidepressive (thymoanaleptic) action is combined at amitriptyline with the expressed sedative, somnolent and anxiolytic (antistress) effect.

At the same time Elavil (Amitriptyline) is not completely deprived from stimulating, psychoenergizing effect. The stimulating effect is especially expressed in the certain interval of dozes (at each patient this interval is individual) and connected partially with increase at these dozes of concentration of the main active metabolite amitriptyline — nortriptyline, possessing expressed stimulating and psychoenergizing action, partially with antidepressive and stimulating and energizing action of amitriptyline itself. At excess of the top border of this “window” of dozes the sedative action of Elavil again starts to prevail, and the visible stimulating (and sometimes and antidepressive) action weakens. At low dozes, below some individual “an antidepressive threshold”, neither stimulating, nor antidepressive action is almost observed — only nonspecific sedative, somnolent and antistress.

Indications to application

• Apply strictly by prescription of the doctor.
  Depressions of any etiology. It is especially effective at disturbing – depression conditions, by virtue of expressiveness of sedative effect. Does not cause an aggravation of productive semiology (delirium, hallucinations) unlike energizers with stimulating action.
  The mixed emotional frustration and infringements in behavior, phobic frustration.
  Children’s enuresis (except for children with urinal bladder).
  Psychogenic anorexia, bulimic neurosis.
  Neurogenic pains of chronic character, for preventive maintenance of a migraine.
  Apply mainly at endrogenic depressions. It is especially effective at disturbing-depression conditions; reduces stress, psychomotor excitation, internal pressure and fear, a sleeplessness and actually depressive displays.
  Usually amitriptyline does not cause an aggravation of delirium, hallucinations and other productive semiology that is possible at application of energizers with prevalence of stimulating effect.

Antidepressants are the preparations facilitating or preventing depression. Before the discovery of antidepressants the substances possessing the exciting effect were actively applied for treatment of depressions, capable to cause a condition of euphoria (opium and others opiates, caffeine, a ginseng). For reduction of alarm and excitability valerian is applied, the salts of bromine are also used. But the real revolution in psychopharmacology became the discovery of antidepressants in the beginning of 50th years. Since then, already during half a century, these preparations are the basic means for struggle against depression.
